Michael Henry is a former DOD technical director who currently serves as the CEO of Industrial Communications Group (ICG) in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Michael Henry had an extensive military career before joining the DOD. He served 29 years in the US Army, a career that reflects excellence in high-pressure working environments.
During his time in the military, Mr. Henry was a special operations communicator officer. He developed expertise in establishing tactical and strategic links (setting up reliable communication systems where normal connections are difficult), briefed senior leaders, planned/executed mission communications, and trained personnel globally. His exemplary service earned him multiple combat decorations, including the Defense Superior Service Medal and the Defense Meritorious Service Medal.
Following his military service, Mr. Henry served as a technical director with the Department of Defense (Joint Staff J6). In this civilian role, he led complex projects involving multiple government and industry partners, resolving global communications challenges and facilitating the transition of combat-proven emerging technologies to wider military use. He also directed communications for elite United States Special Operations Command units.
Michael Henry holds a bachelor of science in managerial economics and math from UC Davis University in California. He also earned a master of business administration in statistics from Embry Riddle University in Daytona Beach, Florida.
